Lowood Nursery consists in the restoration of a derelict plant nursery in Tweedbank, located in the Scottish borders. It is conceived as a long-term experimentation ground including the refurbishment of a wood and steel greenhouse from the 1970’s, the inclusion of bio and ecological methods for growing and the infrastructure these require, the design of custom modular systems for easy planting and propagation (for outdoors and indoors), as well as the inclusion of spaces within the nursery program that hold residencies for artists and makers that will actively collaborate in the development of the site.
